Standortbeschreibung
A crisp winter view across the snow-dusted rooftops of Edinburgh, with the castle perched atop its dark volcanic plug at the heart of the frame. This shot is taken from the impressive Crags ridge which is a spectacular walk with sweeping panoramic views. The ridge is a moderate uphill hike but always worth the effort. Less energy required than Arthur’s Seat, yet still offering majestic city views. Beware of the cliff edge. All views can be safely taken from the main paths without any need to endanger yourself in any way.
Aufnahmehinweise
A clear morning creates contrast in the shapes of the city’s buildings with or without snow. A long lens compresses the Castle and Old Town spires, and the elevated shooting position on the Crags brings Corstorphine Hill (2 miles away) into the composition. Snow can trick light meters in cameras into overexposure, so keep an eye on highlights to make sure there is still data being captured.
